Due to high demand for our products we are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our small, busy and successful development team.
About You
You will be part of the team that creates and develops our next generation of information and discovery tools. You must have had previous exposure to the full software development lifecycle, and as part of developing software to a schedule, you must be comfortable using source code version control, automated unit and system testing and code review.
You will have an understanding of the challenges of presenting information in a comprehensible form that allows informed decisions to be made, and also the challenges of deploying and supporting applications to customers and users at remote locations.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. You need to be able to interpret user requirements and translate them in to a solid software design, and be able to communicate your designs and ideas to your fellow developers. Occasionally you might need to guide customers in using the software, or diagnose issues that arise when software is deployed.
Your technical skills and experience must include creating Windows Forms applications using C# and the .Net framework. Other relevant skills will include ASP.NET, SharePoint, SQL Server, C++, and Windows and TCP/IP networking. You should be aware of current and forthcoming technologies that will impact your work, and be ready to seek training in those technologies when it is appropriate.
As well as an attractive salary, Active Navigation offers a company pension scheme and health insurance. The development team is based in our Southampton Science Park offices although travel to customer locations is sometimes necessary.
