Objective Corporation UK today announced that it has entered into partnership with Active Navigation, the information governance solution provider, for the discovery and transformation of unstructured data.

Scott McIntyre, Managing Director EMEA of Objective Corporation said, “We are delighted to be partnering with Active Navigation. Together we are offering a new way for customers to achieve their information governance requirements while delivering in-year savings from better managing Redundant, Obsolete and Trivial (ROT ™) digital content. Many organisations have ROT information in email, file shares or Microsoft SharePoint. The Active Navigation and Objective solution, allows organisations to quickly identify the important corporate data from their ROT information, then clean and migrate it into a fully compliant repository.”

At a time when unstructured data volumes are increasing by an average of 60% annually, many organisations are finding that by identifying and cleaning their ROT information they can save hundreds of thousands of pounds in storage costs alone. The partnership with Active Navigation enhances Objective’s agile approach to better information management, by enabling organisations to implement an enterprise-wide information management strategy in small, manageable steps.

McIntyre continues, “As part of our agile approach to better information management, the Objective Information Audit utilises Active Navigation’s market leading solutions to discover and then clean ROT information, no matter where it’s located. Providing an organisation with clean content, exposes the value of their information and by eliminating the ROT information, reduces the risks presented by sensitive data.”

Peter Baumann, CEO, Active Navigation comments, “Working with Objective was a simple decision for us and we are pleased to have formalised our partnership. We share common customers and markets, but of even greater importance is our shared view on how Information Governance will drive the broader market requirements in the coming years. By combining Active Navigation’s File Analysis capabilities and Objective’s robust and leading ECM platform, current and future customers alike will benefit greatly.”

Following the Objective Information Audit, in which all data will be fully cleansed, an organisation’s content will be free of ROT information and policy violations. Immediate results from an Objective Information Audit typically deliver storage reductions of 30% to 50%, lowering the total cost of ownership for storage, while improving the performance of enterprise search, file servers, email servers and information repositories.
